An update has been provided on the recovery of Will Ospreay following his recent neck surgery.
Will Ospreay’s recovery specialist, Saminder Singh of the Body Alignment Clinic in Rainham, England, has posted on Instagram about Ospreay’s recovery and mentioned that the former AEW International Champion underwent surgery six weeks ago.
In the post, Singh also added the caption “Jan 2026”, which led fans to speculate that Ospreay could be back in the ring by early next year. However, Dave Meltzer posted via a Wrestling Observer Daily Update yesterday that this is not the case, and Ospreay will likely only be able to start doing light weight workouts come January, Meltzer wrote:
“Regarding Will Ospreay, some people brought up to me from a social media post thinking he would be back in January. That is not the case. He is hopeful of being able to start light weight workouts in January. He is a long way away from returning.”
When Was Will Ospreay’s Last AEW Match?
Will Ospreay last competed at AEW/NJPW Forbidden Door on August 24, where he teamed with Darby Allin, Kenny Omega, Kota Ibushi, and Hiroshi Tanahashi to defeat the team of Claudio Castagnoli, Jon Moxley, Gabe Kidd, Matt and Nick Jackson. Following the match, Death Riders attacked Ospreay to write him off TV to allow him time to get treatment for a herniated disc in his C2 and C6 vertebrae.
