Royce Keys’ status on WWE television remains unclear.
Despite making his debut at the Royal Rumble in January, there is reportedly no confirmed creative direction in place for the former Powerhouse Hobbs. According to WrestleVotes Radio, Royce Keys’ immediate future is currently at a standstill as WWE continues building toward WrestleMania 42.
During the latest episode of WrestleVotes Live, the outlet noted that although Keys has been present backstage at recent tapings, there is “absolutely nothing” planned for him at this time.
“Nothing. Big question mark. Absolutely nothing,” the report stated. “We had speculated that SmackDown was the place for him. It certainly does still seem like that’s going to be his home. I know he was backstage Friday night. Saw some pictures of him. Don’t know when he’s showing up on TV. Hopefully, they have an idea. Hopefully, this is part of the plan.”
Keys impressed many fans during his Royal Rumble appearance in Saudi Arabia, notably eliminating Damian Priest before being thrown out by Bronson Reed. However, he has yet to officially join a weekly roster.
Who Was Rumoured To Be Royce Keys’ First WWE Feud?
Previous internal reports indicated that a proposed programme with Damian Priest was scrapped amid broader creative adjustments heading into WrestleMania season. While Royce Keys has remained active behind the scenes, including filming content at WWE Headquarters and competing in a dark match against Nathan Frazer, his on-screen role has yet to materialise.
With WrestleMania 42 set for April 18 and April 19, questions remain over whether Keys will factor into the card or if his main roster run will begin after WWE’s biggest event of the year.
