Dominik Mysterio appears to have avoided the worst following his recent injury, with new details emerging about his recovery timeline.
Dominik Mysterio has been sidelined since suffering a shoulder injury during the main event of AAA Guerra de Titanes on December 20. The injury occurred late in the match and immediately raised concern, with WWE later acknowledging on Raw that he would be out of action for an undetermined period.
According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, Mysterio has since received positive news regarding his condition. Meltzer reported that the injury will not require surgery, a development that significantly shortens his expected recovery time.
“Dominik Mysterio, he found out he does not need surgery,” Meltzer said. “What I was told today is they’re looking at three to four weeks. So it’s not a long-term thing. He should be back for the Royal Rumble.”
Meltzer added that while the timeline is still fluid, the prognosis is encouraging, especially considering the alternative.
“He got the word that he doesn’t need surgery, which is a big relief,” Meltzer explained. “If it had been surgery, it would have been months, and he’d have to vacate the titles, and it’s a bad time to be injured for that long.”
Dominik Mysterio Injury Update Provided On Raw
During Monday’s episode of Raw, commentator Joe Tessitore noted that Mysterio was dealing with a shoulder injury and would be out indefinitely, while Liv Morgan also referenced his absence in a backstage segment. However, the latest update suggests that his time away from the ring may be far shorter than initially feared.
If his recovery stays on track, Mysterio could be back in action in time for the Royal Rumble, avoiding a prolonged absence at a crucial point in the company’s calendar.
