Dominik Mysterio missed WWE Raw after potentially suffering an injury.
At AAA Rey de Reyes on March 14th, Dominik Mysterio put the AAA Mega Championship on the line against El Hijo de Vikingo for the last time. Stipulations had been added to the No Disqualification bout, meaning that if Mysterio lost, he would be banished from AAA, while if Vikingo were unsuccessful, he wouldn’t be able to challenge for the gold again as long as Mysterio held it.
The brutal bout saw interference from the likes of Omos, Mini Vikingo, and Dorian Roldan. In the end, Mysterio was able to end things with a chairshot to Vikingo, followed by a 619 and a Frog Splash to get the pinfall victory and retain his title.
Unfortunately, Dominik didn’t emerge from the bout unscathed. On the March 16th edition of Raw, Michael Cole announced that the star wasn’t medically cleared to compete, and was absent from the show.
On the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Bryan Alvarez gave an update on the situation, reporting that Mysteiro is in concussion protocol. It is currently unknown when he will return to action.
Alvarez also reported that the original plan for Raw would have seen Mysterio take on Dragon Lee in singles action; however, that match was replaced with Lee getting a shot at Penta’s Intercontinental Championship.
Dominik Mysterio Wants To Regain WWE Intercontinental Championship
Penta captured the Intercontinental Championship from Dominik Mysterio on the March 2nd episode of Raw, and he wants to get his gold back, whatever it takes. In a recent interview, the star said he would gladly put his hair on the line against Penta, and maybe even his moustache.
