Dave Meltzer has provided an update on Andrade‘s WWE non-compete clause.
In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer has reported a massive possible revelation on what is known about Andrade El Idolo’s non-compete clause with WWE. Meltzer previously reported that El Idolo walked out of a recent independent show in Mexico after an autograph signing, noting that this was strange due to his non-compete clause only being enforceable in the United States.
Now, Meltzer wrote that this might be because the Mexican star’s non-compete clause is effective worldwide. Meltzer wrote:
“Andrade was announced for the show. He did the meet and greet but wasn’t on the show itself. There was a report that he left unhappy after the meet and greet but also claims he wasn’t wrestling on the show so there was no reason to stay for the show.
There are those now claiming that his non-compete is worldwide and not just for the United States, which does make sense given he’s wrestled nowhere outside the U.S. either. There is also no way that would hold up in court if he tried to challenge it.”
What Did Andrade Say About The Speculation That He Walked Out Of A Recent Event?
Andrade addressed the rumours that he walked out of a show in Mexico because he was “unhappy” with something on the show, denying the allegations and jokingly saying that he went to a popular Tijuana gentlemen’s club called Hong Kong Gentlemen’s Club.
