An update has been provided on an absent former NXT champion who hasn’t been seen on TV in nearly four months.
Former North American Champion, Tony D’Angelo, has not been seen on WWE TV since the July 30 episode of NXT, where his feud with his former D’Angelo family stablemate Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo ended and in a vignette, D’Angelo recreated the final scene of the iconic mobster series The Sopranos, as D’Angelo was seen eating alone at his restaurant and as he saw someone off-screen, the scene cut to black, which is very similar to what happened on the June 10, 2007, final episode of The Sopranos.

Fightful Select has now reported that D’Angelo was spotted backstage at the November 11 episode of NXT in Orlando, Florida, but he was notably not dressed in wrestling attire and did not train or film anything.
When Did Tony D’Angelo Debut On NXT?
Tony D’Angelo made his NXT debut on the October 5, 2021, episode with his Italian-American mafioso gimmick and quickly gained popularity, and in April 2022, formed his The D’Angelo Family stable alongside Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Troy “Two Dimes” Donovan, and started feuding with Santos Escobar.
D’Angelo and Stacks captured the developmental brand’s Tag Team Title twice in 2023, and D’Angelo captured the North American Title in October 2024.
