One half of the IWGP Tag Team Champions, Yuto Ice, took a header courtesy of challenger Yuya Uemura. At New Beginning in Osaka tomorrow, The Knock-Out Brothers (Yuto Ice and Oskar) will put the belts on the line against Yuya Uemura and his partner Shota Umino. The bad blood between the two team boiled over at the press conference today. The press conference was moderated by NJPW President Hiroshi Tanahashi.
Umino lashed out at The Knock-Out Brothers promising to unleash all of his frustration tomorrow. He promised that he and Uemura would leave New Beginning as the new champions.
Oskar wondered what chance they would have considering they are always speaking as individuals not a team.
“The best tag team in the world is going to face the least tag team in the world? Every time they talk it is…Me! Me! Me! not We! We! We!” said Oskar.
Ice piped up saying when they are defeated “so badly that they won’t want to tag again anymore.”
After a photo op, Oskar walked away but Yuto remained. As Uemura walked away with Umino, Yuto grabbed him by his jacket spinning him around. He began slapping Uemura in the face and went to punch him. Uemura head butted him instead knocking him to the floor. Oskar had to come back out and help his partner to the back.
Ren Narita, the new leader of The House of Torture, will also challenge Aaron Wolf for his NEVER Openweight Championship tomorrow.
During their appearance, Narita needled rookie Wolf by suggesting he polish it up for when he hands it over at New Beginning.
Wolf told Narita that he wants a fair match but if Narita breaks the rules, so will he.
Claiming he wanted to honour the departed Evil, Narita vowed to bring the title back to The House of Torture. He then spit in Wolf’s face.
IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji came face to face with Jake Lee, who has been hounding him since he returned to NJPW and joined The United Empire. After they signed their match contract Tsuji told Lee he is in for a reality check tomorrow.
