Two former WWE stars made their surprise TNA debuts on Thursday night’s episode of Impact.
The mystery wrestlers were revealed as Samuel Shaw and Joseph Sawyer, formerly known as Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy, respectively, and both men were later confirmed to have signed with TNA Wrestling.
Their arrival followed a mysterious backstage attack on Matt and Jeff Hardy during last week’s episode of Impact. The former TNA World Tag Team Champions headed to the ring on Thursday and called out whoever attacked them.
The arena lights then went out before two unidentified individuals appeared and attacked the Hardys. The pair eventually revealed themselves as Shaw and Sawyer, marking their first appearances for TNA since leaving WWE.
Former WWE Stars Form New TNA Team
After their debut, it was announced that Shaw and Sawyer will compete together as Syx. TNA later confirmed that both men have officially signed with the promotion.
Shaw and Sawyer previously competed in WWE as Dexter Lumis and Joe Gacy, where they were members of the Wyatt Sicks. WWE released the entire faction in April 2026, freeing its members to continue their careers elsewhere.
The move marks a return to TNA for the 42-year-old Shaw, who previously worked for the promotion between 2012 and 2015. Sawyer, 39, is beginning his first run with TNA after previously competing for WWE and on the independent scene. Neither man has faced Matt or Jeff Hardy before, giving TNA a fresh rivalry after Syx’s surprise arrival on Impact.
