U.S. President Donald Trump has offered the position of White House press secretary to someone unexpected: Dana White, the president and chief executive officer (CEO) of the Ultimate Fighting Championship promotion.
On social media Trump wrote that he offered the position to “the Great Dana White, a violent Fighter and Warrior”.
Trump also requested that White bring along several UFC fighters as “assistants”: “We need these people to defend us against the Lunatic Left. Dana will be a Press Secretary like none other. Dana, please take the job!”.
When asked about the news, White said that he would travel from London to Washington to discuss the job on Monday.
White was asked how he would balance his UFC and White House duties by The Associated Press, White said: “Yeah, I got a lot of jobs already.”
Trump and White are close friends. UFC White House was scheduled for the Trump’s 80th birthday.
