Triple H once said that if given the chance, he’d like to hit his signature finisher, the Pedigree, on former WWE Raw guest host and civil rights activist Al Sharpton.
Reflecting on what he described as Sharpton’s “worst appearance ever” on Raw in a 2011 interview with Movie Fone, Triple H recalled the segment went badly when Sharpton turned up just ten minutes before his appearance, did his spot, then left only five minutes later. According to The Game, Sharpton showed minimal engagement and “phoned it in.”
“But you know who I would have liked to pedigree is Al Sharpton. Al Sharpton was the guest host and he showed up ten minutes before he did his thing, he did it, and he left five minutes later. He couldn’t have cared less, he phoned it in. It was the worst appearance ever.”
The blunt remark underscores The King of Kings’ disdain for what he sees as lazy or disrespectful guest appearances on WWE programming.
When Was Triple H’s Last Match?
Triple H’s final match took place on 29 June 2019, when he and Shinsuke Nakamura defeated Robert Roode and Samoa Joe at a WWE live event in Tokyo, Japan. Although the bout wasn’t televised, it stands as his last official in-ring performance. His last on-screen performance came at the 2019 Super ShowDown pay-per-view, where Randy Orton defeated him in a singles match.
He formally announced his retirement in March 2022, explaining that a serious cardiac event the previous year ended any possibility of returning to active competition. Since then, he has remained solely in executive and creative roles within WWE.
