A top SmackDown star could be making his return to WWE very soon.
Jacob Fatu may be nearing his return to WWE television following several weeks away from SmackDown. Fatu has been absent since the 17 October episode, where he was discovered unconscious backstage, bleeding from the mouth, with several teeth scattered beside him.
The angle was designed to explain his sudden disappearance from TV, with reports at the time indicating that Fatu required dental surgery and would be taking time off to recover. His developing rivalry with Solo Sikoa was subsequently put on hold.
According to a new report from PWInsider, Fatu’s name resurfaced behind the scenes during Survivor Series weekend, with sources suggesting that the former Bloodline enforcer could be cleared to travel with the company again in the coming weeks. While no exact date has been confirmed, internal expectation points to a return in the near future.
Who Attacked Jacob Fatu on SmackDown?
The identity of Fatu’s attacker remains unknown. On the night of the incident, he had been scheduled to face Drew McIntyre in the main event to determine the number one contender to Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship. The circumstances have led to speculation that McIntyre may have taken Fatu out to remove an obstacle ahead of his title pursuit.
Fan theories have also circulated online, with some suggesting that the eventual reveal could involve Cody Rhodes himself being responsible for the assault, potentially setting up a future heel turn and a championship programme between Rhodes and Fatu.
