Tony Khan would have seriously considered “allowing” Adam Copeland to wrestle John Cena during his retirement tour.
‘I was never asked and as far as I know Adam was never asked, so it’s hard to say but when there have been opportunities to collaborate I have been collaborative in the past,’ said Khan to UK Metro.
He reiterated that he wouldn’t have been opposed to the idea if Copeland lobbied him for it. He also claimed that in keeping with the proposed arrangement, he wouldn’t have attempted to undermine any of those plans.
‘I never got asked but if I had been presented a plan and the dates and the information of what was going on, yeah, I would have supported it,” he said.
Khan isn’t surprised that some outside talent are making their way to AEW though.
‘There are so many great wrestlers around the world and so many of the very best professional wrestlers compete in All Elite Wrestling. I always say AEW is where the best wrestle and I really believe that. I think that the very best wrestlers in the world are competing in AEW right now,” he said.
