Tony Khan has addressed the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the AEW status of Britt Baker, months after speculation began about the former AEW Women’s World Champion’s future with the company.
Questions around Britt Baker’s standing in All Elite Wrestling intensified in July 2025, when reports surfaced suggesting she was seeking to leave the promotion. Those claims were later disputed by Fightful Select, which reported that sources denied Baker was trying to exit AEW. Despite that, Baker has remained largely absent from AEW programming, fuelling continued debate.
Speaking on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan praised Baker’s importance to AEW and made it clear she remains highly valued within the company.
“I really like Britt a lot, and I think there are so many exciting things happening in the women’s division,” Khan said. “Britt is somebody I really like and respect a lot, and I definitely think as we’ve evolved, with more tag teams and singles wrestling opportunities now across multiple shows, now that we have four hours of TV with Dynamite and Collision, I think there are going to be more and more opportunities.”
While Khan stopped short of offering a concrete timetable for her return, he pushed back against the idea that Baker’s time in AEW has come to an end.
“You’re seeing I’m signing a lot more young wrestlers, and Britt is still somebody very highly regarded and respected here in AEW,” Khan added. “So, I would expect to see Britt back in AEW. I just don’t want to say when.”
Baker has been a central figure in AEW’s women’s division since the company’s launch, becoming one of its most recognisable stars and a former AEW Women’s World Champion. While her absence has raised questions, Khan’s comments suggest the door remains firmly open for her eventual return to AEW television.
When Did Britt Baker Last Wrestle In AEW?
Britt Baker hasn’t competed inside of an AEW ring since the November 13, 2024, episode of Dynamite, where she defeated Penelope Ford in singles action. It is currently unknown why Baker has been absent for well over a year now, and Tony Khan has denied reports that she had requested her release from the company.
Baker remains on AEW’s roster page, despite not having appeared on TV in over a year and two months.
