Tony Khan has all but confirmed that a major AEW pay-per-view, which debuted this year, will not be taking place in 2026.
Tony Khan spoke during yesterday’s AEW Full Gear media call about a variety of topics relating to the upcoming PPV and the wider AEW universe in general. And it was during this media call that Khan was asked if it was possible that Wrestle Dynasty, which was a co-promoted PPV by AEW, NJPW, CMLL, ROH, and STARDOM, and was held in the Tokyo Dome on January 5, would return for 2026, to which Khan said that he doesn’t think it will.
Khan said that NJPW are focusing on Wrestle Kingdom 20, which is set to take place on January 4, 2026, at the Tokyo Dome, and because Wrestle Dynasty would take place around the same time as Wrestle Kingdom, they aren’t looking at running the event. Khan said that he is open to the idea of bringing the show back in the future, but there are no concrete plans to reintroduce it.
Which Former WWE Star Did Tony Khan Say He Is Interested In Bringing To AEW?
Tony Khan spoke about how he is interested in bringing former WWE star Killer Kross into AEW. While speaking with Ariel Helwani, Khan said that while he hasn’t talked to Kross in years, he was loosely involved in a deal that saw Kross team with Darby Allin to take on JD Drake and Steven Borden at an Awesome Championship Wrestling event in October.
