Tony Khan has confirmed AEW remains interested in developing more video games despite the mixed reception to AEW: Fight Forever.
Speaking during the AEW Redemption post-show media scrum, the AEW President was asked whether fans could expect a sequel to Fight Forever or another wrestling game. Tony Khan said the company learned a great deal from its first console release and would welcome the opportunity to return to the gaming market.
“I have to say that I would be interested in taking another run at gaming and trying new things. We learned a lot from the experience of launching Fight Forever. For a company as young as AEW to have a game on the market, it was a very ambitious project.”
Khan added that AEW is not solely focused on producing another console wrestling game, noting the company has already experimented with titles on other platforms and believes there are several different directions it could explore.
“We’ve developed other games on different platforms, and I do think there are a lot of different ways and different types of games we could make. Absolutely, at some point I’d be interested in it.”

While Tony Khan made it clear AEW has not abandoned its gaming ambitions, he stressed the company would not rush into another release after the lessons learned from Fight Forever.
“I would never want to rush into it. We worked really hard and also learned a lot from our first foray into gaming, and I do think it’d be something interesting to try again.”
Although Khan did not announce a new project, his comments suggest AEW intends to revisit the video game market in the future once the right opportunity presents itself.
