AEW head honcho Tony Khan has heaped praise upon AJ Styles.
A guest on the YoJoshMartinez show, Khan acknowledged Styles’ amazing career.
“I think that AJ Styles is absolutely a fantastic wrestler. He’s one of my favorites and I think he’s had an amazing career all over the world,” said Khan.
Khan then mentioned his favourite AJ Styles match.
“He has never been in AEW before but he has wrestled in Ring of Honor and in Ring of Honor he had some fantastic matches, As a fan some of my favourite stuff is when AJ Styles was in NJPW. He had fantastic matches there. His match with Minoru Suzuki is one of my personal favourites and he had a great alliance with The Bullet Club at that time, he said.
Khan told Martinez that he believes Styles is one of the best to ever enter a ring.
“There were some really great AJ Styles matches over the years, all over the world but absolutely some of my personal favourites would have been in NJPW with him. He is someone who has had a great career in so many companies around the world and I certainly consider him to be one of the all-time greats,” he said.
Styles wrestled in NJPW for only two years, from 2014 to 2016 but made a massive impact as the leader of The Bullet Club. Once Kenny Omega joined there was dissention in the ranks and eventually The Club turned on Styles before he left for WWE.
