AEW President Tony Khan has named two up-and-coming stars he believes could be the future of the company.
Tony Khan has identified Kevin Knight and Persephone as two young wrestlers he believes have a bright future in All Elite Wrestling. While speaking with Compas on the Beat at Super Bowl Radio Row, Khan was asked to name one male and one female talent who could become AEW’s next major stars. He pointed to two performers currently working under dual contracts with other promotions.
“I would say we have a great young group of wrestlers,” Khan said. “I’m very excited about AEW and our partnerships with companies around the world. And, I think two wrestlers that are under dual contracts, that I’d say you want to watch for the future in AEW and worldwide, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight.”
Khan highlighted Knight’s background with New Japan Pro Wrestling and his current success in AEW’s trios division.
“He is signed to both AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling. And he is now one-third of the AEW World Trios Champions as the Jet Set Rodeo. I think, ‘The Jet’ Kevin Knight, whether it’s in trios, tag teams as JetSpeed or ‘The Jet’ as a singles star, that’s one to watch for the future in any wrestling promotion in the world.”
Which Female Star Does Tony Khan Believe Could Be The Future Of The AEW Women’s Division?
Tony Khan then turned his attention to Persephone, who works with both AEW and CMLL, and has also appeared in Ring of Honor.
“As far as young female wrestlers, Persephone, who works with AEW and CMLL, has come in. I think Persephone is fantastic,” Khan said. “She also wrestled for me in ROH, and I think Persephone has all the tools. She’s a great star for CMLL, and she can be a great star in AEW too.”
Persephone, 24, has competed in CMLL since 2023 and has been featured regularly in AEW and ROH since 2025. Following her appearance at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2025, there were reports of interest from WWE, though Bryan Alvarez later stated the company never approached her with a contract due to her CMLL obligations.
Knight, 29, first appeared in AEW in 2022 while still working primarily for NJPW. After several sporadic appearances, he made his AEW Collision singles debut in 2025 and later formed the JetSpeed tag team with Mike Bailey. He currently holds the AEW World Trios Titles alongside Bailey and Adam Page.
