Tony Khan has named the celebrity that he’d love to see in an AEW ring.
Speaking at Sportico’s Invest in Sports: New York event, AEW President Tony Khan was asked which celebrity he’d want to bring into AEW if he could. Khan named a celebrity who has actually already competed in an AEW ring, none other than NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal. Khan said:
“For me, the best person we had and I would love for him to come back any time, would be Shaq.”
Khan spoke about how Shaq has already wrestled in AEW on the March 3, 2021, episode of Dynamite, where he teamed with Jade Cargill to take on the team of Cody Rhodes and Red Velvet, and Cargill was able to give their team the win after Shaq and Cody went crashing through two tables on the outside of the ring.
What New Title Did Tony Khan Recently Announce For AEW Full Gear?
Tony Khan recently announced that a new AEW National Championship is being introduced, and that the inaugural champion will be crowned in a Casino Gauntlet match at Full Gear on November 22 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Khan and AEW faced some backlash over this new title, as NWA already has a National Heavyweight Championship, which is currently held by Mike Mondo.
