AEW President Tony Khan spoke about the possibility of him taking a break from the company.
Speaking at the AEW Full Gear post-show press conference, Tony Khan was asked if there had ever been a point where he struggled to stay motivated in his position as the head of the promotion, and he said that although he hasn’t taken a break from wrestling for a long while, he still has the same passion for the business as when he started:
“No. I haven’t taken a break from wrestling in a long, long time. I love it and I’m very much in the zone. I love coming to work every week. I’ve never missed a show and I absolutely love it.”
Khan continued that he feels grateful to be in the position that he is in, being the head of creative as well as the company’s president, and that he feels like the company is in a stronger position now than it was last year.
Khan made it clear that he has no plans on going anywhere anytime soon, as he said that he is still as in love with the business even after running AEW every single day without a break for seven years
“Being entrenched in it now for seven years, every single day without a week away from it, I’m obsessed with it. I love it so much. I never think about being away from it. I eat and breathe and sleep it, so it’s really a pleasure to be here and I never take it for granted how special it is to be able to do this.”
Which Pay-Per-View Did Tony Khan Say Won’t Be Returning In 2026?
Tony Khan previously spoke about how the Wrestle Dynasty pay-per-view won’t be back in 2026. Khan said that because Wrestle Kingdom 20 is taking place next year, New Japan Pro Wrestling are focusing on that show and won’t be hosting Wrestle Dynasty around the same time as they did with Wrestle Kingdom 19 this year.
Khan did say that while the show isn’t happening next year, he is hopeful that it will be back at some point in the future.
