Tony Khan has named Will Ospreay as one of AEW’s greatest stars.
Since officially signing with AEW in 2024, Will Ospreay has become one of the most popular stars on the roster and a staple of the main event scene. Unfortunately, the Aerial Assassin has been out of action since August due to a herniated disc in his neck, which required surgery.
During a recent interview with 107.7 The Bone, Tony Khan was asked about Ospreay’s current status. After saying Ospreay is doing “very, very well,” Khan credited the former International Champion with making AEW a better place when he’s involved.
“I talk to Will Ospreay a lot, and he’s doing very, very well and on the road to recovery, which is incredible news for AEW.
“Because Will Ospreay’s one of our greatest stars we’ve ever had. And AEW’s a better place anytime Will Ospreay is involved in any aspect of All Elite Wrestling.”
When Is Will Ospreay Expected To Return To AEW?
On January 5th, Will Ospreay made a surprise appearance at NJPW New Year Dash and announced that he planned to return to his old promotion for multiple events. However, he didn’t provide a timeframe for his return to action beyond saying it could take a “long time.”
His comeback could be edging closer, as a video recently aired on Dynamite hyping the star. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, the aim is for Ospreay to return in time for All In 2026 in Wemble Stadium on August 30th.
“The goal, as stated, is for him to be back at Wembley Stadium. As we’ve noted, that feels fast but all along they’ve talked about a summer return.”
Following successful neck surgery, there’s still no clear timetable for his return, but @WillOspreay is grinding every day to make his way back to All Elite Wrestling!
