TNA Wrestling has announced the return of its Lockdown event, with the steel cage showcase set for August 23 in Chicago.
As per TNAwrestling.com, the pay-per-view will take place at Credit Union 1 Arena and marks the first Lockdown event since 2016. The concept remains unchanged, with every match on the card taking place inside a steel cage.
Lockdown was originally introduced in 2005 and quickly became one of TNA’s signature events, known for its high-risk environment and the debut of the Lethal Lockdown match, the company’s version of WarGames. The event ran annually until its final edition in 2016.
The Chicago show will also be TNA’s first event at the venue, which has a long history in professional wrestling.
Numerous Stars Announced For TNA Lockdown Return
Several names have already been announced for the card, including Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy, Nic Nemeth, Mustafa Ali, Moose and Mike Santana. The Knockouts division is also expected to feature prominently, with competitors such as Tessa Blanchard and Indi Hartwell confirmed.
Further match details are set to be announced later this summer.
Tickets for the event go on sale later this month, with pre-sale beginning April 22 and general sale starting April 24.
