The Undertaker spoke about a fellow WWE Hall of Famer he believes could have a perfect wrestling match with a broomstick.
Appearing on What Do You Wanna Talk About with Cody Rhodes, The Undertaker was asked between Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels, which of the two fellow Hall of Famers he preferred working with in the ring. While acknowledging he could not go wrong with either choice, Undertaker said his chemistry with Michaels stood above the rest.
“I probably had the very best chemistry with Shawn,” Undertaker said, before offering high praise for Michaels’ ability. “Shawn may be the only guy I’ve ever known that could have a five-star match with a broomstick. I mean, he’s just that talented.”
Undertaker added that both men were elite performers, joking that he would happily take whichever option was left after a first pick. Still, his comments reinforced just how highly he rates Michaels as one of the most gifted workers he ever shared the ring with.
How Many Matches Did Shawn Michaels And The Undertaker Have In WWE?
Despite both The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels being with the WWE since the early 1990s, and both men being main event stars throughout the Attitude Era and through the Ruthless Aggression era into the early Modern Era, The Undertaker and Michaels have only had five one-on-one bouts together in the company’s history.
Their first singles match took place on September 7, 1997, at In Your House: Ground Zero, with that match ending in a no-contest. Next month, they competed in the inaugural Hell in a Cell match, which garnered a five-star rating from Dave Meltzer and saw the debut of another Hall of Famer, Kane.
Their final match together took place on March 28, 2010, at WrestleMania 26, and was Michaels’ retirement match.
