The Undertaker has recalled staging a fake argument with Vince McMahon as a rib on the WWE locker room.
Despite spending decades portraying one of wrestling’s most intimidating characters, The Undertaker has long been known backstage as someone who enjoyed a good locker room rib. Undertaker has often spoken about having fun with friends behind the scenes, and on a recent episode of Six Feet Under, Undertaker shared one of his favourite pranks involving Vince McMahon and an entire group of unsuspecting talent.
Undertaker recalled that during discussions about a potential storyline involving his real-life wife, Michelle McCool, and Layla, McMahon floated the idea of running rehearsals with Nexus call-ups. That immediately sparked an idea.
“When these guys figure out they’re gonna have to kiss Michelle, they’re going to be sick to their stomachs,” Undertaker told McMahon, who instantly saw the humour in it.
The pair then decided to stage a loud argument in the middle of the rehearsal. Undertaker explained that he and McMahon deliberately raised their voices just enough for parts of the exchange to be overheard.
“He’d be like, ‘You need to be more professional,’ and I’d be firing back,” Undertaker said. “We’re just going at it.”
The argument ended with Undertaker storming out in dramatic fashion, flipping chairs, kicking equipment and slamming crates before heading to his bus. Once outside, the supposed fury quickly turned to laughter.
“I broke down as soon as I got on the bus,” he admitted.
What Was The Nexus’ Reaction To The Undertaker And Vince McMahon’s Prank?
The prank had the desired effect. Vince McMahon shut down the rehearsal, leaving the Nexus talent rattled and unprepared. Several wrestlers, including Chavo Guerrero and MVP, attempted to check on The Undertaker, only to be brushed off as he stayed in character.
When it was time for the segment, Undertaker returned, walking through the backstage area as everyone parted ways.
“I felt like Moses going through the Red Sea,” he laughed.
Michelle McCool added that the nerves were real, recalling one wrestler in particular, Bray Wyatt.
“Bray was legit about to vomit,” she said, describing him as ghost white as the segment approached.
