WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker has spoken about which one of his many matches he is most proud of.
The Undertaker spoke in an interview with Tom Segura on “2 Bears, 1 Cave” and was asked which one of his matches from his storied career he is most fond of, naming his WrestleMania 25 match with Shawn Michaels as his pick. The Deadman said:
“So the match I’m probably [most fond of] as far as a wrestling purist kind of matches, would have to be WrestleMania 25, Shawn Michaels. That was as close to perfect as I ever got, right?”
Undertaker went on to praise Shawn Michaels, calling him “one of the greatest, if not the greatest, in-ring talents ever.” Their match at WrestleMania 25 is widely regarded as Undertaker’s best ever match and one of the greatest matches in WWE history. Despite fans considering it to be a perfect match, Dave Meltzer only gave the match four and three-quarters stars.
Which The Undertaker Vs. Shawn Michaels Match Did Dave Meltzer Give The Highest Star Rating To?
The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels have had five televised singles matches together throughout their careers; the first one took place on September 7, 1997, at In Your House: Ground Zero, and the last one took place on March 28, 2010, at WrestleMania 26. Neither of those two matches, however, got a perfect five-star rating from Dave Meltzer; the one match that did get that rating was their October 5, 1997, Hell in a Cell match at In Your House: Badd Blood, which was the first-ever Hell in a Cell match in WWE and also saw the debut of another WWE Hall of Famer, Kane.
