WWE reportedly has a backup plan in place for WrestleMania 43 if The Rock is unable to compete.
According to Self Made Pro during a recent Self Made Session, WWE is considering a match between Roman Reigns and Oba Femi as a potential WrestleMania 43 attraction. The report noted that plans for the event remain fluid, with several key decisions still to be finalised. Self-Made Pro stated that the information came from a source within WWE and emphasised that nothing has been officially locked in.
“So I talked to someone in WWE, right? There’s a lot of moving pieces right now, and they’re still unclear,” he said. “Right now, if Dwayne’s not doing Mania, then they’re looking to do Oba Femi and Roman at Mania.”
The report suggests the proposed match would serve as an alternative should The Rock be unavailable for the show, which is scheduled to take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The Rock Previously Addressed WrestleMania 43 In Saudi Arabia
The Rock has previously addressed WrestleMania 43, expressing excitement about the event and the opportunity to perform in the Kingdom. However, he stopped short of confirming whether he intends to wrestle, leaving his status uncertain. Hollywood commitments and other projects are expected to play a significant role in determining whether The Rock can return to the ring.
Previous reports have indicated that WWE and Saudi officials have discussed a substantial offer to bring The Rock to WrestleMania 43, potentially for what could be the final match of his in-ring career. However, those reports have not been officially confirmed.
For now, WWE’s WrestleMania 43 plans remain a work in progress, but a showdown between Roman Reigns and Oba Femi could emerge as a major option if The Rock is ultimately unavailable.
