Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has joined others across the wrestling world in paying tribute to PAC after his death at age 40.
The Rock shared a video on Instagram offering his condolences to PAC’s family and reflecting on the impact the Newcastle upon Tyne native made throughout his career. The TKO Board of Directors member described PAC, whose real name is Benjamin Satterley, as “insanely talented” and recalled meeting him several times while Satterley competed as Neville in WWE.
“Man, it hurts my heart to do this. I wanted to send out into the universe and to the Satterley family, my love and my condolences, my support, my light, my mana, as you are enduring the loss of your loved one, Benjamin Satterley,” Johnson said.
Johnson spoke about the close-knit nature of professional wrestling and said Satterley’s age made his death particularly difficult to process.
“As global as professional wrestling is, we’re still a very tight-knit unit and a tight-knit group because we all share the same DNA,” Johnson said. “And that is our love and our passion for the squared circle and to perform for audiences around the world.” “But when we lose one of our own, it hurts. And when they’re young and so insanely talented, it really, it really f***ing hurts.”
The Rock Sends Condolences To Tony Khan And AEW
The Rock also acknowledged AEW during his tribute, calling the promotion a “phenomenal wrestling company” and offering his support to AEW President Tony Khan.
“To my friend Tony Khan, I’m so sorry for your loss,” Johnson said. “My friend QT [Marshall] and all the locker rooms, the men and women of AEW, I’m so sorry for your loss.”
Johnson also sent his condolences to his WWE colleagues who knew Satterley and again addressed his family.
“And to those, of course, my colleagues in WWE who knew him well, I’m so sorry. So sorry all around. And to the Satterley family, I wish you love and light as you endure this pain.”
Johnson concluded his message by thanking PAC for everything he gave to professional wrestling and its fans. Satterley competed as Neville during his WWE career before joining AEW as PAC in 2019. His death was announced on Sunday, September 27.
