Former WWE stars Austin Creed and Kofi Kingston, now known as The New Level in AEW, have reportedly signed five-year contracts with the promotion. According to Fightful Select, the duo joined AEW at All In 2026, where they teamed with Swerve Strickland to capture the AEW World Trios Championships. The report claims that working alongside Strickland was part of the original pitch to bring them into the company, with Strickland playing a significant role in establishing the relationship between The New Level and AEW.
Tony Khan reportedly waited until both wrestlers were contractually free before entering discussions. Previously known as Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston of The New Day in WWE, the pair turned heel in the final stages of their WWE careers before moving to AEW.

The CW’s election night coverage in the USA will force NXT to air on Wednesday 11/4 at 8 PM against AEW Dynamite.
Grayson Waller has revealed that Shawn Michaels hoped an NXT wrestler would physically confront him following his controversial return promo in July 2026. Speaking on Notsam Wrestling with Sam Roberts, Waller explained that only a select few people knew about the shoot-style promo beforehand, in which he criticised the NXT locker room. According to Waller, Michaels told him, “I hope one of these kids slaps you,” as both wanted to test whether the younger wrestlers would stand up for themselves.
However, Waller claimed the atmosphere backstage was awkward and nobody confronted him, despite his deliberately provocative remarks. He maintained that he meant everything he said during the promo. Just weeks after returning to NXT, Waller defeated Tony D’Angelo to capture the NXT Championship.
The October 16 episode of WWE SmackDown averaged 1.327 million viewers on USA Network, down slightly from the previous week’s 1.352 million. However, the key 18-49 demographic rating held steady at 0.32 for the second straight week. Both figures exceeded the show’s ten-week rolling averages of 1.277 million viewers and a 0.29 demographic rating. The Money in the Bank fallout episode featured a confrontation between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton, Rey Fenix defending the AAA Cruiserweight Championship against Ricky Starks, Paige facing Nikki Bella, R-Truth taking on Damian Priest, and Rhodes battling Baron Corbin. SmackDown also faced competition from college football, continuing a trend that has affected its Friday night broadcasts in recent months.
