Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods, formerly of The New Day in WWE, are set for one of their first public appearances since departing the company earlier this month.
GalaxyCon has announced that the artists formerly known as Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston will appear at its upcoming event in Oklahoma City later this month. The pair will be appearing under the names Austin Creed and Kofi following their WWE exits after WrestleMania 42.
The convention announced that Creed and Kofi will be available for autograph signings and photo opportunities on May 23 and May 24 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. Gangrel has also been advertised for the event across all three days.
GalaxyCon Oklahoma City is scheduled to take place from May 22 through May 24. Fans attending the event should note that autograph and photo opportunities are sold separately from general admission tickets.
The New Day duo were among several names released by WWE in the aftermath of WrestleMania. Following the news, Kofi appeared to address reports that the pair had been asked to accept pay cuts before ultimately leaving the company.
“Do not ever compromise or accept less than your due when it comes to your worth,” Kofi wrote at the time.
What Names Are The New Day Using Outside of WWE?
Kofi is currently able to use the singular “Kofi” name because it is derived from his real name, Kofi Nahaje Sarkodie-Mensah. Meanwhile, Austin Watson has reverted to the Austin Creed name he used before joining WWE, as well as throughout his various UpUpDownDown projects.
The future of the UpUpDownDown YouTube channel remains uncertain. Although the channel was originally founded by Watson, reports previously stated that ownership was sold to WWE in 2021 as part of the New Day brand.
