A popular WWE tag team came to an abrupt end on Raw as frustration finally boiled over following another championship defeat.
Lyra Valkyria‘s partnership with Bayley came to a dramatic end on last night’s Monday Night Raw as the former Women’s Intercontinental Champion turned on her longtime ally following another failed bid for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships. Valkyria and Bayley challenged Women’s Tag Team Champions Brie Bella and Paige on Raw in London, knowing it could be their final opportunity to capture the titles together.
Before the match, the pair declared that it was “do or die” and vowed to finally win championship gold as a team. However, their hopes were dashed when Valkyria was pinned, allowing the champions to retain.
The loss proved to be the breaking point for Valkyria.
After the match, Bayley attempted to console her partner, but Valkyria responded by launching a vicious attack. Officials quickly intervened and separated the two, but Valkyria was not finished.
Moments later, she returned to resume the assault before laying Bayley out with a Nightwing, officially ending their partnership and cementing her heel turn.

Lyra Valkyria & Bayley Both Reacted To Their Breakup Angle On WWE Raw
WWE later followed up on the angle during a backstage interview segment. Jackie Redmond attempted to get a response from Lyra Valkyria, but the former champion refused to explain her actions or address the attack.

The split marks a significant change for Valkyria, who previously enjoyed success in the women’s tag team division alongside Becky Lynch. Despite multiple opportunities, she and Bayley were unable to capture the Women’s Tag Team Championships during their time together.
Lynch reacted to the turn on social media, remaining in character as she claimed she had warned Valkyria about Bayley’s influence.
“LOONEY LOSER LYRA HAS SNAPPED!! All because she LOST! What did she expect?! I TRIED to warn her that BASIC Bayley would hold her back, but she DIDN’T listen!!! I WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING!!!!! #beckywasrightabouteverything,” Lynch wrote.
