Swerve Strickland has suggested he earns significantly more than some of the figures circulating online about AEW contracts.
The discussion began after a graphic comparing hypothetical AEW and WWE deals began spreading on social media. The post speculated that an AEW main-event contract could be worth around $600,000 per year over five years, while a WWE deal might pay $1 million annually but place the talent in a mid-card role.
Swerve Strickland responded directly to the post, indicating that the suggested AEW salary figure was far below what he actually earns.
“My main events are like 5x that,” Strickland wrote.
Swerve Strickland Responds To Fan Who Says He Isn’t Worth $3 Million
One fan questioned whether Swerve Strickland’s television presence justified that level of pay, suggesting it would equate to roughly $3 million per year. Strickland responded by encouraging critics to examine his recent performances on AEW television.
“Do the homework on my last Dynamite main event,” he replied.
Strickland signed a multi-year contract with AEW in 2024 that is expected to keep him with the company for several years. While the exact financial details of the deal have not been publicly confirmed, his comments suggest the company is paying a premium to keep him positioned among its top stars.
