Swerve Strickland has named the four wrestlers he believes belong on AEW’s Mount Rushmore.
Speaking with radio station 107.7 The Bone, Swerve Strickland said he would choose Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Sting as the figures who have had the greatest influence on the promotion’s success.
For Strickland, the key factor in building an AEW Mount Rushmore is identifying the performers whose contributions helped establish the company.
“I feel like Mount Rushmore comes up when it’s the guys that really, we wouldn’t be here without these guys,” Strickland said. “If I had to go with that, I would say Moxley, Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and I would say… honestly, I’d put Sting up there too.”
Strickland added that Sting’s presence was particularly important during AEW’s early years, especially throughout the COVID-19 era.
“I felt like Sting also helped get them through the COVID era,” he said. “He made such a big difference that I don’t think people talk about enough.”
