Swerve Strickland’s recent absence from AEW programming has been explained.
Swerve Strickland has not appeared on AEW television since his loss to Kenny Omega on the March 25 episode of Dynamite, a match that cost him a number one contender’s opportunity. He was also absent from the AEW Dynasty event this past weekend.
According to a report from Fightful Select, the former AEW World Champion has been away from television due to filming promotional material for Warner Bros. Discovery. No further details about the project have been confirmed.
Strickland was reportedly present at a signing on the day of Dynasty, while Omega went on to challenge MJF for the AEW World Championship in the main event.
Rumours Swirling That Swerve Strickland Could Return On AEW Dynamite Tonight
With AEW Dynamite set to take place in Everett, Washington, there is speculation that Swerve Strickland could return, given his ties to the region. He has remained active since returning from knee surgery late last year, with the loss to Omega ending a brief winning streak.
