Appearing on the The Ariel Helwani Show, ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin has explained that ATV mishap at WrestleMania.
While driving out to the ring on an ATV to announce the attendance numbers for night two, Austin crashed the vehicle into a ringside barricade knocking a fan over.
“It was a different throttle set-up that I am normally used to. Long story short, it was a different throttle system because I am pretty damn handy on a four-wheeler,” he told Helwani.
Austin explained that the incident was embarrassing for him.
“I think everyone’s okay but I mean, you go out there during the biggest night in wrestling and you end up like that? It wasn’t the greatest day at the office. You go out there and you want to give people the best show that you can and when you fall short of that it is not great,” he added.
Austin stated he was thankful for being able to be at WrestleMania and his recent knee replacement surgery prevented him from doing more than he was able to.
“I was just happy to be there. I had a knee replacement give or take four months ago and for a total knee replacement to heal up 100 percent you are looking at about a year….I am feeling really good but I haven’t even tried to run yet. So, I don’t know if I can run. I figure I am about 30 to 35 percent,” he said of his recovery.
