Sting’s son Steven Borden Jr. is set to make his debut for New Japan Pro-Wrestling later this month.
NJPW announced on social media that the son of WWE Hall of Famer Sting, Steve Borden, will compete at the NJPW Academy third anniversary showcase at the LA Dojo on March 21. The event is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. local time, though Borden’s opponent has not yet been revealed.
Borden has limited in-ring experience, having competed in fewer than ten matches since making his debut last October. His first bout came in a tag team match that also featured Darby Allin, Killer Kross, and JD Drake.
Since then, Borden has made several appearances across multiple promotions. He has wrestled twice for DEFY Wrestling and has competed in four AEW dark matches. He has also worked a dark match for Ring of Honor, with his most recent appearance coming in early February.
NJPW Star Has Been Training Steven Borden Ahead Of His Japanese Debut
Earlier this year, NJPW roster member Fred Rosser confirmed that he has been training Steven Borden as he continues to develop in the ring. Around the same time, AEW President Tony Khan said that helping prepare Borden for the future is a priority within the company.
It has not been publicly confirmed whether Borden is currently under contract with AEW.
