Stephanie Vaquer’s former partner, Rogelio “El Cuatrero” Reyes, has been sentenced for 12 years and 8 months for attempted femicide (a legal classification in Mexico for the attempted murder of a woman based on gender) and domestic violence, reports The Record.
Reyes has already spent two years in prison. That time will be deducted from his sentence.
Stephanie Vaquer’s legal team will be appealing that sentence demanding he serve more time.
The son of legendary luchador Carmelo Reyes can also petition the court for a reduced sentence if it has been found that his conduct has been exemplary in prison.
If granted that his sentence could be further reduced to approximately five years.
In her original complaint, Vaquer claimed that he assaulted her and strangled her in her home.
On May 5th, he was found guilty on both counts.
