Former WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer is reportedly facing another spell on the sidelines, just days after announcing that she had recovered from an ankle injury.
Stephanie Vaquer was scheduled to face Becky Lynch on Monday’s episode of WWE Raw on October 26, but WWE unexpectedly pulled her from the match after confirming she had not been medically cleared to compete.
New reports suggest that her latest absence could be related to an illness rather than her previous ankle injury, with one source claiming that she could be out of action indefinitely. According to PWInsider’s Mike Johnson, Vaquer’s withdrawal from Raw is believed to be connected to an illness, although the exact nature of the issue has not been disclosed.
Meanwhile, a source close to False Finish has reportedly indicated that Vaquer will be “out indefinitely.” The reports follow Vaquer’s announcement on Saturday, October 24, that she had been cleared to return after an ankle injury.
She had been advertised to face Lynch on Raw, with the winner set to earn an opportunity at the Women’s World Championship. However, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce opened Monday’s broadcast by announcing that Vaquer was not medically cleared to compete.
As a result, WWE changed the scheduled match, instead giving Lynch an immediate championship opportunity against reigning Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. Morgan ultimately retained her title via disqualification after Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez interfered in the contest. Despite the latest reports, WWE has not publicly confirmed the reason for Vaquer’s absence or provided an official timetable for her return.
Stephanie Vaquer’s Recent WWE Appearances
Stephanie Vaquer last competed during WWE’s live events in Hawaii on October 16 and 17. Before those appearances, she had been involved in the Women’s World Championship picture, losing the title to Liv Morgan in a Triple Threat Match also involving Becky Lynch at Money in the Bank.
The Chilean wrestler had been working towards returning to championship contention before her latest setback. Her scheduled match with Lynch would have given her another chance to move closer to a Women’s World Championship match.
However, the unexpected cancellation has left her immediate WWE future uncertain. Although PWInsider’s report suggests an illness may be responsible, no one has confirmed that Vaquer has suffered another injury or that her previous ankle problem has returned.
Similarly, WWE has not confirmed the suggestion that she could be sidelined indefinitely.
