WWE Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer appeared on the January 5 episode of WWE Raw wearing a walking boot, but her status on the red brand was left uncertain after she was attacked by Raquel Rodriguez.
During Stephanie Vaquer’s entrance for an in-ring promo on the special Stranger Things-themed episode of WWE Raw, commentary revealed that she suffered an ankle injury during her successful title defence the previous week against Raqule Rodriguez and Nikki Bella. Despite the injury, Vaquer addressed the crowd and reflected on what she described as an incredible 2025.
Vaquer highlighted several milestones from the past year, including holding four championships, competing at Evolution, making her Raw debut, and achieving her long-held goal of becoming Women’s World Champion. She thanked the WWE Universe for their support and briefly addressed the audience in Spanish before pointing to her injured ankle and stating that the setback would not stop her. Vaquer said she wanted more in 2026 and was prepared to face anyone.
As Vaquer posed with the Women’s World Championship, Rodriguez attacked her from behind. Rodriguez focused on the injured ankle, repeatedly targeting it before delivering the Tejana Bomb. She then retrieved a chair from ringside and continued the assault until Raw General Manager Adam Pearce and several officials rushed to the ring and intervened.
Following a commercial break, Vaquer was shown being assisted backstage by officials when Rodriguez attacked her again. Rodriguez stood on Vaquer’s injured ankle until Pearce stepped in, threatened disciplinary action, and ordered her to leave the building. Officials checked on Vaquer as she remained seated on the floor, clutching her ankle.
Vaquer’s condition remains unclear following the attack.
When Did Stephanie Vaquer Win The WWE Women’s World Title?
Stephanie Vaquer won the WWE Women’s World Championship at the Wrestlepalooza pay-per-view on September 20, 2025, defeating Iyo Sky in a match for the vacant title. The title had been vacated by Naomi on the August 18, 2025, episode of Raw after she announced that she was pregnant with her and her husband’s, Jimmy Uso, first child together.
Vaquer has held the title for 108 days so far, and it remains to be seen if this apparent ankle injury will force her to vacate the belt.
