Stardom’s Natsupoi is retiring from the squared circle.
During the special announcement, Natsupoi revealed that her last match will be at the Yokohama Budokan event on January 3rd, 2026.
She has been wrestling for 11 years.
“I have decided to put an end to my career as a professional wrestler and move on to a new life,” she said. “I’ve been running around as a Natsupoi pro wrestler for 12 years and I’ve had the opportunity to try many different things and have many different experiences. This year, I also announced my marriage, and I’ve started to think about the next stage of my life, and that’s when I decided I wanted to live a life different from that of a pro wrestler.”
Natsupoi is married to NJPW superstar Shingo Takagi.
Natsupoi explained that her loss to IWGP Women’s Champion Syuri a few weeks ago did not influence her decision.
“I challenged for this belt with the desire to have my final moment as a singles wrestler. Whether I won the belt or not, I had already made the decision to retire. When I won the belt, I was determined to hold it and run to the very end, so now I’m filled with regret but my decision to retire hasn’t changed,” she said.
As far as her favourite moment in her career she has many.
“It’s really hard to choose. If we’re talking about battles, there are so many battles that I have fond memories of but right now what comes to mind is the presence of the members of Cosmic Angels who were always by my side and supporting me, and Tam-chan (Nakano Tam)…and the time we spent together in the hotel during the tour even when things were really tough, talking about all sorts of things…It’s like all those memories are welling up inside me,” she said.
As for who her final match will be against, she wants that to be a surprise.
“There are so many fighters I really want to compete against but I like surprises, so I think I’ll hold off on saying anything here,” she said.
Natsupoi has had an accomplished career in Stardom. She has won the Wonder of Stardom Championship once, the Artist of Stardom Championship three times, Goddesses of Stardom Championship twice and the High Speed Championship once.
