Sol Ruca has vacated her NXT Women’s Speed Title after suffering a knee injury earlier this month.
Sol Ruca spoke with NXT General Manager Ava backstage on last night’s episode of NXT to discuss her injury status. While Ava did say that Ruca’s doctor told her that she is making good progress in her recovery, they could not give an exact timeframe for when Ruca would be able to step back into the ring.
Given the uncertainty of when Ruca will be cleared to compete, Ava asked if she would consider appointing someone to defend the NXT Women’s Speed Title on her behalf, like she did for her NXT Women’s North American Title, which her appointee, Zaria, lost at Halloween Havoc on October 25, being defeated by Blake Monroe. Ruca decided that instead of appointing Zaria to defend one of her titles again, she would instead vacate the title, stating that the NXT women’s division needs a fighting champion.
Zaria was upset by Ruca’s decision and walked off-screen before the segment was over.
When Did Sol Ruca Win The NXT Women’s Speed Championship?
Sol Ruca captured the NXT Women’s Speed Title on the April 11, 2025, episode of Speed, defeating the inaugural champion Candice LeRae, who defeated Iyo Sky in a tournament final to crown her as the first title holder. Ruca defended the title just four times since she won it back in April, defeating the likes of Kendal Grey, Jaida Parker, Alba Fyre, and Ivy Nile.
