A long-awaited honour has been confirmed for one of wrestling’s most imposing figures, as Sid Vicious is set to take his place in the WWE Hall of Fame.
WWE announced on March 24 that the late Sid Eudy will be inducted as part of the 2026 Hall of Fame Legacy Class. The announcement was made by Paul “Triple H” Levesque, confirming that Vicious will be honoured during the ceremony in Las Vegas on April 17, the night before WrestleMania 42.
“No matter which moniker you knew him by, Sid’s intensity was palpable across the ring and through your TV screen,” Levesque wrote. “A multi-time champion in WWE and WCW, and a two-time WrestleMania main eventer, it’s a pleasure to announce that he will take his rightful place in the 2026 Legacy Class of the WWE Hall of Fame.”
Vicious joins a class that also includes Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Demolition, and Dennis Rodman.
Sid Vicious’ WWE Hall Of Fame Worthy Career
A dominant presence throughout the 1990s, Sid Vicious headlined WrestleMania VIII in 1992 against Hulk Hogan and WrestleMania 13 in 1997 against The Undertaker. He captured world championships in both WWE and WCW and was also a member of The Four Horsemen earlier in his career.
Prior to his passing in August 2024, Vicious had expressed hope that he would one day be inducted into the Hall of Fame, believing the timing might finally be right following changes within WWE.
Outside the ring, his legacy continues through his family. His son Gunnar is planning a tribute event later this year, with proceeds set to benefit an animal rescue charity in honour of Vicious’ well-known love of animals.
The 2026 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony will take place at the Dolby Live venue at Park MGM in Las Vegas, beginning at 9 p.m. local time.
