Seth Rollins still aims to make his WWE comeback in time for WrestleMania 42.
Seth Rollins has been out of action since October. At Crown Jewel, The Visionary defeated Cody Rhodes in a Champion vs. Champion match to win the Crown Jewel Title. Unfortunately, while he seemed to end the night on a high, Rollins didn’t emerge unscathed.
The star damaged his rotator cuff after landing awkwardly while hitting a Coast to Coast on The American Nightmare. The injury required surgery and a lengthy recovery period, leaving Rollins on the shelf ever since.
During a new interview with Men’s Health, Rollins spoke about the injury, admitting that he doesn’t know for sure when he’ll be able to return to the ring. However, with the timeframe he’s been given, The Architect said he still hopes to be back in action by WrestleMania 42, which takes place on April 18th and 19th in Las Vegas, Nevada.
“Don’t know the answer to that yet. You know, the timeline for shoulder surgery and repair is four to six months or so. Did my rotator cuff back in October. As long as there is no setbacks, I hope to be cleared by the time WrestleMania rolls around in April. But I mean, at the end of the day, that decision isn’t mine.”
Seth Rollins Admits Injury Rehab Has Been “Terrible”
Seth Rollins went on to compare the rehab process for his shoulder to the period after he injured his knee back in 2015. According to the star, his current experience has been “way worse.”
“When my surgeon got in there, he was pleasantly surprised, honestly. Labrum looked good, and the bicep tendon was fine. So he just replaced the rotator. And the rehab has been awful. It’s been terrible. I tore my knee, the ACL, MCL, meniscus in 2015, and I would say this was way worse.”
12 weeks on from surgery, Rollins can see the light at the end of the tunnel, and reiterated that he believes he’s on track to return by WrestleMania.
“I’m at 12 weeks [into recovery] right now, this week coming up, I’m good. Mobility’s good. Just gotta keep it and then work on the strength. And like I said, hopefully we’re on track for sometime before April 20th or whenever WrestleMania is.”
While he is not currently appearing on Raw or SmackDown, Seth Rollins can be seen on WWE: Unreal, season 2 on Netflix, although he recently claimed it took a lot of effort for the company to get him to agree to appear on the show.
