Seth Rollins has confirmed that his WrestleMania 42 match with Gunther was not part of WWE’s long-term plans.
There had been uncertainty surrounding Seth Rollins’ opponent following his return at Elimination Chamber, with various directions reportedly considered. However, the situation changed in recent weeks, culminating in a confrontation on WWE Raw that led to the match being made official.
Speaking on The Rich Eisen Show, Rollins discussed his return from a shoulder injury suffered at Crown Jewel and emphasised his determination not to miss WrestleMania again.
“I missed one WrestleMania in my career and it was one of my lowest moments and so I’m very happy to be back and be able to get in the ring,” Rollins said. “Not just do a run-in or anything like that but actually have a contest.”
Rollins then revealed how quickly the match with Gunther came together.
“Wrestling one of the best in the world, Gunther, in a match that’s kind of come together over the last couple of weeks and so I’m pretty excited for that one.”
What Day Is Seth Rollins & Gunther’s WrestleMania 42 Match Set To Take Place?
