Although they’ve been important in his career, Seth Rollins hates Money in the Bank ladder matches.
Almost a decade ago, Seth Rollins made one of the most audacious Money in the Bank cash-ins in WWE history when he inserted himself into the main event of WrestleMania 31. While fans expected Roman Reigns to conquer Brock Lesnar and walk out with his first World Championship, it was Rollins holding up the gold to close the show.
It wasn’t the only time Rollins won the coveted briefcase and put it to good use. In 2025, he won the Money in the Bank ladder match, and two months later at SummerSlam, cashing in to cut CM Punk’s World Heavyweight Title reign short minutes after he won a war with Gunther.
Despite the positive effect they’ve had on his career, though, Seth Rollins has admitted he “hates” the multi-man ladder matches. During the third episode of season two of WWE: Unreal, The Visionary explained the difficulties of participating in the bouts.
“Chris Park was on that match, we have great producers, but I hate a Money In The Bank match. I hate them. As a participant, I hate them.
“Cause it’s not just you and one other person and a referee. You’ve got all these ladders, so you add in the element of extreme danger. Everybody’s gotta be on point. The timing, everything from a safety standpoint, a storytelling standpoint.
“I don’t know if you’ve realized this about me yet, but I’m a bit of a control freak, i like to have the reins. These types of matches, they’re like waterfalls. So when things start to go off a little bit, that is not ideal for me. “
Seth Rollins Had Conditions For Agreeing To Be Part Of WWE: Unreal
In an interview with ESPN ahead of joining season 2 of WWE: Unreal, Seth Rollins laid out the restrictions he wanted in place to participate in the behind-the-scenes reality show. The star said that he was happy to talk about the real person behind his character, but still wants to protect things when it comes to what happens in the ring.
“There are some things I don’t want filmed or want you to see. I just raise an eyebrow at the crew and they know when to put it away, press the button, turn the microphone off and have my moment.”
