Seth Rollins and Becky Lynch have offered candid thoughts on retirement and whether they think about their final match.
The pair recently appeared in an interview with Ross Tucker, where they were asked if the end of their in-ring careers was something they actively considered. Seth Rollins said his focus remains firmly on the present, explaining that he believes he still has plenty of time left as an active wrestler.
Rollins noted that while he does not dwell on his final match, he is increasingly aware of the length of his career, having started wrestling at the age of 17 and now approaching 40. He said that perspective has led him to think more about how his career is progressing and what he still wants to achieve, rather than how it will ultimately end.
“I think often, I guess, about the mortality of my career because I started when I was 17 and now I’m nearly 40 and I’m certainly not going until I’m 60. I’m almost closer to the end than the beginning,”
Rollins said, adding that the awareness creates a sense of urgency to accomplish things he has not yet done or to find new ways to contribute. However, he made it clear that thoughts of his final match or final moment are still a long way off.
“But, my last match, my last moment, that’s so far away that I haven’t quite got there yet.”
Becky Lynch, meanwhile, gave a much shorter response when asked the same question, simply saying that she has not started thinking about her last match yet.
“Nah, not yet.”
At present, Lynch is focused on regaining the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, while Rollins is sidelined as he continues to recover from a serious shoulder injury.
When Will Seth Rollins Return To WWE From Injury?
Seth Rollins spoke in an interview a few weeks ago about his shoulder injury and said that he got his shoulder brace off sometime in November. Rollins also previously spoke about when he could return to the ring from injury and said that his doctors and physio don’t think he will be fit to compete until at least April 2026.
This means that Rollins will most likely miss next year’s Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia, but he could be back in time for WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
