Sean Strickland, the UFC Middleweight Champion is threatening to vacate the title and leave UFC.
On X, Strickland published a series of post complaining about UFC’s pay structure.
“I gotta be honest unless things change with the UFC Im kinda over it. McGregor makes 30 million to fight for 30 second and they dont want to pay us a fraction of it. Contemplating just going to 205 knocking out my contract and scrapping with @jakepaul
That sounds fun,” he wrote.

He then continued: “Its just hard McGregor 30 million Some lame boxer 15 million The thought of just giving up my belt going to 205 and speed running my contract to fight Jake and make what these guys are making sounds pretty damn appealing.”

A fan then asked him: “Bro why do you the think the UFC is so damn stingy. Throughout your whole career, you always said you’re a Company Guy. And now when you’re the champion of the world, they can’t treat you right?”

He answered: “Its also just insulting how much McGregor and some lame boxer made…. I can sit here and grind at middle weight and kill myself to make 185 or just move up enjoy it knock out my contract and get a bag fight paul… sorry beating the breaks off paul”

Strickland rattled off some more thoughts: “It is funny when they say but your contract says….. I think being the new unfiltered face of paramount sounds kinda entertaining. I guess that could be my consolation prize? Any request? Gonna ask Kanye to corner me lmao”.

Strickland responded: “I haven’t decided if I want to nuke my contract but I gotta say man putting hands on you sounds way better than the UFC right now. No insult to you but I’m shocked you would actually box me. Woodley I get but me is impressive…..”

It is not clear if Strickland is intentionally being controversial or he is airing his legit grievance with UFC and is willing to leave over his complaints.
