AEW’s Samoa Joe donates a portion of his income to his church and is encouraging other Christians to tithe as well.
To tithe is to give a portion of one’s income, produce, or resources as a contribution to a religious organization, church, or compulsory tax.
Speaking at his church, the Tampa-area multi-campus Grace Family Church in Florida, Joe was sceptical of the process but his wife convinced him it was the right thing to do.
“I acquiesced, and it was probably one of the greatest decisions that we made as a couple. Happy wife, happy life,” he told the Christian Post.
Joe explained how his attitude changed.
“It didn’t stress me out anymore because this (money) isn’t something I was owning, This was something that I was a steward of,” he said. “I can confidently say since the very first month that we started tithing in earnest, the first 10%, there’s never been a time where I’ve thought of not tithing because there’s always been an abundance there,” he insisted. “Where there wasn’t a way, God made a way.”
He also had a message for his critics.
“You’ll try Netflix for a couple of months just to see if you like it. Try God for a few more,” he said.
