Royce Keys has given his thoughts on his WWE run so far.
On January 15th, Powerhouse Hobbs departed from AEW after six years with the promotion. It didn’t take long for fans to find out what his next move was, as on January 31st, he made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble. During his entrance, the ‘Powerhouse Hobbs’ name was shown on the screen before being blown up and replaced by his new ring name, ‘Royce Keys.’
Since then, Keys has established himself as a dominant presence on SmackDown, where in only his second match on WWE TV, he won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
In a new interview with WittyWhittier, Keys reflected on his first few months in WWE, saying it exceeded his expectations.
“It’s exceeded my expectations. It’s been wild. Just from the moment I put pen to paper and I knew I was coming, to everything that just recently happened. There’s points where before I have my music hits and I’m going out, I just feel like everything is in slow motion, like I’m in this dream I’m not waking up from.
“So everything has been really great. You know, I’ve been put in some great positions and knocked it out of the park. So that’s what I’m gonna continue to do.”
What’s Next For Royce Keys?
Later in the interview, Royce Keys revealed that his biggest ambition for the rest of 2026 is to win a championship in WWE.
“I think before this year is up, I’ll have some gold around my waist. That’s the plan.”
He also teased that he could be planning something that will shock fans.
“I there will be a moment that… it’s going to shock everyone, that no one would expect. I feel like it’ll be like, ‘How could he do that?’, you know, one of those moments.”
