Roman Reigns has shared the advice he regularly gives younger WWE wrestlers on establishing signature moves and creating moments audiences want to see.
The reigning World Heavyweight Champion discussed the importance of developing recognisable moves during an appearance on THE MORNING SHIFT, where he was promoting his upcoming film, Street Fighter, alongside several of his castmates.
Roman Reigns explained that signature moves are essential in professional wrestling, helping performers establish their identities and build anticipation among fans. He also drew comparisons between WWE and Street Fighter, suggesting that the film’s characters benefit from the same recognisable techniques that have become synonymous with professional wrestlers.
“With WWE, your signature moves become a part of the show, and we preach that to the younger guys, like ‘Make sure you find out these signatures and make them a part of our program, so people want to see them,'” Reigns said. “I think that’s what’s happening in real time for us for ‘Street Fighter.’ We’re able to depict that and illustrate that and that’s what people are going to want to see.”
Reigns’ comments highlight his belief that developing a distinctive in-ring identity is key to connecting with audiences.
Roman Reigns Continues Successful WWE World Heavyweight Championship Reign
Having signed his first WWE developmental contract in 2010, Roman Reigns has spent more than 16 years building one of the most decorated careers in the company’s history. The former Shield member has captured numerous championships, including four reigns with the Undisputed WWE Championship, while establishing himself as one of WWE’s biggest attractions.
His transformation into The Tribal Chief and eventual emergence as the Original Tribal Chief, or OTC, have also played significant roles in shaping his current character. Reigns has enjoyed another successful year in 2026, beginning with his victory in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
That triumph ultimately led to a World Heavyweight Championship opportunity against CM Punk at WrestleMania 42, where Reigns defeated Punk to capture the title. Since then, Reigns has successfully defended the championship against several prominent opponents, including Jacob Fatu, LA Knight and Penta.
He also retained the title against former Shield stablemate Seth Rollins at SummerSlam. With years of experience at the highest level of WWE, Reigns is now sharing lessons he has learned with the company’s younger performers.
