After Raw ended last night, Roman Reigns had a message for his Backlash opponent Jacob Fatu.
During their contract signing, Reigns infuriated Fatu by saying he was beneath him.
They brawled with Fatu trying to apply the Tongan Death Grip on Reigns. Eventually, Fatu would apply it and slam Reigns through the signing table.
Shaking off the attack, Reigns addressed the crowd after the cameras went off the air.
“Saturday at Backlash will not look like this! I promise you! I’ve busted my ass for too long, I’ve held my ground in this company for too long and I ain’t letting it go just yet! No! In Tampa, that is what we have to hold it down. In Omaha, we realized what has to happen, at Backlash I am going to whoop Jacob’s ass! At Backlash, it’s ‘and still.’ At Backlash, you’re looking at the Head of the Table and the Tribal Chief above all!” said Reigns as his music played and the fans chanted “OTC! OTC!”.
The official Backlash card is:
Seth Rollins vs. Bron Breakker (with Paul Heyman)
Iyo Sky vs. Asuka
Trick Williams (c) (with Lil Yachty) vs. Sami Zayn — WWE United States Championship Match
Danhausen and TBA vs. The Miz and Kit Wilson
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Jacob Fatu —World Heavyweight Championship Match
