Roman Reigns has reached out to a bullied semi-verbal autistic man on social media.
KShawn, who is 28, was bullied, assaulted and robbed by a group of young men while playing basketball at a community center. While he was being attacked, KShawn told them that he was going to tell Roman Reigns what they had done to him.
Being semi-verbal autistic means the person has limited spoken communication. The can speak but may have difficulty communicating verbally or may speak only in certain situations.
His mother, Kimberly Foye, was sent and posted a video of the assault on social media asking for help identifying them.
She wrote: “Hey fb family just wanted to let everyone know Kshawn is doing good. Please if anyone has any more information please contact Detective Holcomb of the CPD. I really appreciate everyone who reached out an showed up for Kshawn. He will get through this. So please let the CPD do their job an not make threats to any one. Please thank you all so much.”
Foye explained how much the headphones mean to her son: “He wears his Beats because it cancels all the noise that he can’t stand to hear. He can’t live without them. He’s got them on 24/7.”
She also detailed how KShawn has been taught not to harm others, especially children and young people.
“When they took [Kshawn’s] Beats, he didn’t care about them hitting him. They probably could have hit him all day and it wouldn’t have phased him. He’s got a high tolerance for pain, and also he would have never hit them back because they’re little kids to him. He’s been taught ‘safe hands’ all his life. You don’t hit little kids, so he would have never fought back,” she said.
KShawn was gifted new headphones by members of the community.
Foye, spoke to BlackByGod and said: “People tell me, ‘Well, you shouldn’t feel this way because they did this to Kshawn but still, they’re kids. I’ve seen juvenile delinquents turn into grown adult murderers, and somebody has to do something with them and help those kids because it’s not going to be good for them.”
Well, Reigns has answered KShawn’s call. He sent an emotional and personal message.
“KShawn what’s up buddy? You already know who it is, it’s your Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns here and I just wanted to drop by, check in on you, man. Good friend, a little birdy told me that you’ve been having a little trouble and there’s some stuff at school, and some of the kids are bullying you. I just want you to know that all your friends here at WWE are with you. I know it can be tough. Life can be unfair sometimes, it really can, but I just want you to know that we are thinking about you,” he began.
He then had a special gift for him.
“Keep your head up, just know that you are the man. You are a good kid. And we know you mean the best, and we just want to reward you for all the support you send our way, and we want you to understand that we are supporting you as well. So, I’m going to do my very best to make it happen. And whenever WWE is coming near you, you’re going to be at the show. And trust me, you’re gonna have some Tribal Chief tickets. They’re gonna be the best seats in the house. So, make sure you enjoy yourself. And I’m going to keep tabs on you to make sure everything’s all good, man,” he said.
Roman Reigns has five children with his wife, Galina Becker: one daughter and two sets of twin boys.
